Michael I have been following you for years. Thank you for all the videos. With all the new 360 cameras how do we connect those to OBS? I have an Insta360 X3 that can work as a webcam, but I can not get the X3 to show a video feed. Any thing you can help with would be greatly appreciated. TY

I did try Prism live, seemed promising, but when I went to stream, nothing but the sound and pitch black would show up in the stream. And I ran into a problem where it wouldn't let me update it.

Excellent! You just saved me a time-consuming step in post-processing. Only two options in Linux OBS, but both the high and low CPU options you mentioned were available and worked as explained.

My problem is I use 4 microphones in my set up which alll are plugged into my mixing board. How can still utilize this feature?.. My mixing board is driving my microphones and several other sounds like might Ipad sound board… what should I do Mike?

Hi Michael, great video, correct me if I'm wrong, but are you positioning your mic over your head, just out of camera view? I similarly had that setup and migrated to my Rode Wireless Go Pro using the lavalier mic as I experienced the same sound challenges, I.e. room effect, mic not being close enough to my mouth, giving a 'distance' sound to my voice which I noticed in your recent videos... please note this as positive feedback and not criticism, as you quite rightly said, sound is perhaps the most important element of streaming, content creation for viewer engagement....👍👍👍

As always great info. I liked the fact that You chose a camera mike as not everybody can afford an external mike. I am quite happy with my rode nt usb about 1,5 feet away plus low cpu noise filter. The noise gate seems to work best while You don't speak. So I don't use it. Some noises have a specific frequency outside the speech frequencies, so the equalizer can help quite a lot. Thanks for Your inspiring videos. They often help to rethink, find a new perspective or understand better. I love them. 😊

This is timely! I just had to buy a quick mic a week ago to get something going asap. It's omni directional and it's getting the noise from my laptop's exhaust -- it's a quiet laptop, but the mic is picking noise anyway. Thank you so much for this video!

RNNoise really is fantastic for a free built in noise removal tool. It's so loud in my room that it doesn't work the best for me though. It works fine, but I do notice a bit of a drop in my mic quality. Instead I use Supertone Clear. It's absolutely amazing. It's not very cheap though. I set it to where just a little bit of background noise still comes through, then use Renegate to cut out the rest of the sound. I think that gets me the most natural sound. And it has an echo removal feature that works like magic. It's 1000x times better than Nvidia's echo removal imo.

I actually use the low CPU one. I deliberately chose to add it to my OBS setup on a rainy day to see how many decibels I'd need to lower it to. I lowered it to -60 and the noise was completely removed. So I'd say the low CPU has almost the same amount of viability as the high one... you just have to fiddle around with it.

Fantastic! I had been using Nvidia voice until recently and it really took a crap about a month ago. So I shut it off and now there is a lot of background noise, ill check the noise suppression. As I have a thread ripper so it should be fine.
